Cross Tape

The cross therapy muscle patch refers to the method of cutting the kinesio tape into a cross shape (or "X shape"), aligning the center point (cross anchor point) of the patch with the pain point or the center of the joint (such as the patella of the knee, the tip of the elbow, or the acromion of the shoulder), and then extending and adhering the four ends in a specific direction and with a certain tension. The main functions are:

Mechanical Decompression: When the center point of the cross is placed over the pain source (such as the patella of the knee), the tape will naturally lift the skin and the underlying soft tissues slightly. This creates a small space around the pain point, helping to reduce local pressure, promoting lymphatic fluid and blood circulation, and alleviate pain and swelling.

Sensory Input: The tension exerted by the tape on the skin provides continuous feedback to the nervous system. This feedback can inhibit pain signals (gate control theory), help relax overly tense muscles, and support weak muscles， improving the proprioception and stability of the joint.

Dynamic Support： Unlike rigid tapes that limit movement， the cross patch method provides support without restricting the normal range of motion of the joint. It is a "dynamic" support that allows you to move freely while guiding the muscles and joints to adopt more correct movement patterns.
